Management and Leadership Development Institute

A professional development opportunity for students,

frontline, middle, and aspiring managers.

The Management and Leadership Development Institute is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to launch or advance a management career. The first half of the Institute focuses on the development of management skills and knowledge, to include such areas as decision-making, budget management, conflict resolution, and performance management. The second half of the Institute focuses on developing leadership abilities.

  • Complete the Institute and earn 6 undergraduate academic credits*
  • Roll Institute credits into the Business Management Certificate or into a bachelor's degree in Management

To participate in the
Management and Leadership Development Institute… register for both of these courses:

MBU 202 Management Principles and Practices

  • 5:50 - 9:30 p.m., Mondays & Wednesdays, May 18 - June 24
  • Content: Develops and builds on participants' knowledge and skills in management, addressing such critical areas as decision-making, budget management, conflict resolution, and performance management.

MBU 351 Managerial Leadership

  • 5:50 - 9:30 p.m., Mondays & Wednesdays, June 29 - August 3
  • Content: Focuses on developing leadership abilities, incorporating use of team projects, conducting field interviews of leaders, and utilizing specialized assessment instruments to help participants understand key leadership competencies and identify which competencies are critical to their current and future positions.

*The Institute courses are also available on a non-credit basis.
