The SHRM Essentials of Human Resource Management provides an overview of the human resource function and covers real-life HR issues and today's most vital and timely topics, including employment law, selecting qualified employees, compensation, orientation and training, and the employee performance process. If you're new to human resources or simply want to strengthen your employee management skills, SHRM Essentials of Human Resource Management is for you. Knowledge of the essentials can make you a better manager, protect your company from needless litigation, and help advance your career. Offered in cooperation with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), this cost-effective course covers real-life HR issues, including employment law, selecting qualified employees, compensation, the employee performance process and much more. Cost/Fees

Non-Credit: $595 (includes the SHRM® Essentials of HRM course materials)

Refund Policy

Registrants who cancel in writing at least three business days before the start of the course may receive a full refund. A substitute may attend if we receive notification at least one business day before the start of the program. If The Catholic University of America cancels the course, a full refund will be given. CUA's Metropolitan School of Professional Studies reserves the right to substitute instructors, change the day a program meets, or cancel programs due to insufficient enrollment or unforeseen events.

Location/Parking

Most classes are offered on the Catholic University campus. Directions, and a map of the campus, are available at http://admissions.cua.edu/undergrad/visiting/. The campus is adjacent to a Metrorail stop (Brookland-CUA / Red line). If you prefer to drive, you will need to obtain a parking permit. Information on parking will be included in a confirmation e-mail.
