Carrie R. Lewis, Ph.D.

Dr. Carrie Lewis earned both her B.S. in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences and Ph.D. in Molecular, Cellular, and Integrative Biosciences from the Pennsylvania State University. She has been an adjunct professor at CUA since 2016 teaching Introduction to Biological Sciences. Dr. Lewis is also a scientist at MedImmune, Inc. in Gaithersburg, MD, working in the Physicochemical group as part of the Analytical Sciences department. Her love of science spans beyond the bench as she has always had a passion for teaching and communicating science, especially to non-scientists. During graduate school, she was a volunteer freelance science writer for the Eberly College of Science and did a science writing internship with the Office of Strategic Communications at Penn State. She also currently volunteers at the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore, MD. She is a big animal lover, and if you take one of her classes, you will likely hear many stories about her dog.
