MA-HRM Program: Features/Benefits

Advantages of CUA's Program:

· Curriculum is Applicable to Both Private and Public Sector Organizations

Managerial functions that apply to a wide variety of situations and institutions are covered, with emphasis on both the practical issues that HR professionals must address and the tools needed to fulfill job requirements. The program addresses concepts, skills, and knowledge directly relevant to managers and HR professionals, whether employed in profit or nonprofit organizations. A specialized track within the program ensures that those interested in Federal HR management receive the particular knowledge and skills relevant to their jobs as well.

· Exclusive Partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management

As the only university in D.C. partnering with SHRM to offer the exam preparation course for certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), CUA offers an HR master's program that integrates and builds on the core competencies of human resource professionals and brings to the program current and best practices in the field of HR as outlined by SHRM and the certification process.

· Flexible Schedule for Busy Working Adults

The program is designed for students who, while already performing managerial functions in their regular work, are seeking an opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills in human resource management. The part-time, evening format makes it easy to fit this program into your schedule.

· Transferability of Credits

The degree requires successful completion of 36 semester credits, of which up to six (6) may be transferred in from other regionally-accredited universities with program approval.

· PHR and SPHR Exam Preparation Course

Program participants who have completed at least 30 credits automatically qualify to attend the SHRM Learning System®, the most highly-regarded program for PHR and SPHR exam preparation. Tuition charges for the course are waived; participants pay only for the course materials, which are provided at a substantial discount.

· Executive Seminars

CUA's Metropolitan School of Professional Studies regularly brings to the CUA campus speakers on topics of interest to HR practitioners. Program participants are invited to attend these events, typically at no cost.
